The Sile River once again offers an itinerary of beautiful lanscapes and historical interest, to cover partly on foot, or even better, by bicycle..

It begins in the stadium area of Treviso, with a walk along the Restera on the left bank of the river.
You will pass by the imposing red Mandelli Mills before reaching a pedestrian bridge that leads to the stagnant branch of the Sile River where there is a lake for sports fishing and shortly after a view onto the "cemetry of the barges".
Returning by the same road you can then take the car to Silea.

From the port it is possible to travel along the Sile by boat, enjoying a privileged view of the greenish waters and the splendid villas that face onto the river.
You will see Villa Barbaro Valier (today known as Villa Battaggia) of the sixteenth century, Villa Barbaro from the seventeenth century, Villa Fanio Cervellini of the eighteenth century near Cendon, the fifteenth century Villa Barbaro Gabbianelli at Lughignano built by Caterina Cornaro as a wedding gift to one of her bridesmaids, Villa Dalla Riva (now known as Villa Canzian) of the seventeenth century, Villa Mantovani Orsetti and the sixteenth century Villa della Celestia. At Casale sul Sile, the antique Torre Carrarese of the fourteenth century remains as a testimony to the fortified system erected by the Padovan land-owners and to the ancient strategical importance of the town's position.
From Casale you can continue on the mainland for Roncade, no longer following the river's course.
Here you will find the magnificent Villa Castello Giustinian (from the end of the fifteenth century) that stands imposingly on the town square, surrounded with crenellated towers and four corner turrets.
