minutes from Treviso and 30` minutes from Venice.

Venice is easily reachable by train or by car.
We suggest to reach Venice from the sea taking the boat from Punta
Sabbioni. You will dock at Piazza San Marco enjoining the beatiful
view of the lagoon.
On June 1918 the famous American writer Ernest Hemingway
volunteered as an ambulance driver on the Italian front, near the Piave river. With the task to distribute kinds of comfort and assistance to the soldiers, during the night between the 8 and the 9 July, in the full load of its duties,
Hemingway came hit from an Austrian mortar on his two legs. He
tried to put the injured soldier safety but, while ha was going to the Commando
with the wounded in shoulder, he was badly wounded by the splinters of a
bullet of a mortar and by some pellets of a machinegun. He was almost died
when he was taken to a barn of an old house.
Here Hemingway stayed for one night receiving the medical cures
for his hurts.
From our Bed & Breakfast it is possible to ride with the bicycle
through the same crucial points that Hemingway reached during that night, the
way he run through with the injured soldier on his shoulders, and the old house
where he was cured.
The wonderful itinerary, surrounded by the great scenery of the
nature, will take you into a magic atmosphere, living the sensation of travelling back to time. An historical reconstruction of the Italian war front that inspired Hemingway to write the famous book A farewell to arms (1929),one of the best ever written novels about the First World War.
